Matt Fish
Matt was born in southern California but moved frequently throughout his childhood, living at one time or another in just about every part of the US. He attended high school at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan and studied music, photography and film. After studying film and photography at the School of Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and Tufts University, he moved to the west eventually settling in Seattle where he lives today.
Matt has a passion for cinema, music, travel, and nature and strives to bring them together in his work. Over the years, this has led him to places such as Senegal and the Gambia to study traditional african drumming or the American Southwest where he helped shoot a documentary about the devastating environmental effects of coal mining on the Navajo Reservation. More recently he travelled to Taiwan and Southeast Asia to shoot documentaries on puppetry and the celebration arts.
In 2004 Matt took a job as an editor and shooter with a Seattle production company Camera One, which specializes in producing documentaries for national and state parks across the US. Working for Lindblad Expeditions offers Matt an opportunity to further his interests in nature, travel, and story-telling while enjoying the thrill and wonder of some of the world's most magnificent places.
