Ross Weinberg is a photographer and filmmaker based in Vienna, Austria, whose work centers on storytelling at the intersection of culture, science and the natural world. Born in Los Angeles, he earned degrees in Film and Economics from Boston University, where he developed a foundation in documentary filmmaking. During his studies, he worked as an editor and cameraman with the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, contributing to science-based media projects that shaped his research-driven, observational approach.

Ross’s assignments have taken him across a wide range of environments, from the rainforests of Guyana to the North Atlantic, from wildlife habitats across North America to cultural events such as New York Fashion Week. His photography has appeared in publications including Vanity Fair, Los Angeles Times and Vogue.

As a filmmaker, Ross has produced projects distributed by Virgil Films and the Samuel Goldwyn Company. He also served as a producer on an award-winning documentary about National Geographic Explorer Will Steger, filmed aboard the National Geographic Explorer during an Antarctic expedition. The project received multiple international awards and deepened his commitment to expedition-based, science-forward storytelling.

He is drawn to remote places, wildlife encounters and the quiet moments that unfold in the field.
