Sokie Lee

Sokie Lee is a Wellness Specialist with an extensive background in holistic health and mindful movement. A longtime New Yorker, her approach to wellness is rooted in her upbringing in Hong Kong and influenced by traditional Chinese philosophy.

Sokie is a graduate of the Swedish Institute and has been a licensed massage therapist since 1993. She is also a certified instructor of T’ai Chi Chih and a longtime practitioner of Tai Chi and Qigong, bringing decades of experience in movement, balance and restorative practice.

She teaches mindful movement and balance classes at institutions throughout New York City, including the 92Y, Hospital for Special Surgery, Greenwich House and Beth Israel Hospital. In 2007, she joined National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions as a Wellness Specialist, combining wellness programming with expedition travel.

In addition to her professional work, Sokie enjoys a wide range of outdoor and cultural pursuits, including scuba diving, kayaking and sailing, as well as travel and community engagement. In 2021, she founded NYC CLEAN Volunteers, an organization dedicated to supporting neighborhood clean-up efforts in New York City, which has received local recognition for its service.

Through her role on board, Sokie supports guest well-being through movement, recovery and mindful practices that complement the expedition experience.
