Steve Ambroe

A native of Minnesota, Steve is a Carleton College graduate with a liberal arts degree in anthropology and a film studies concentration.

After a brief stint in graduate school studying mass communications, Steve returned to the small town of Northfield, Minnesota — famed for thwarting an attempted bank robbery by Jesse James in 1876 — where he has since managed the local television station. In over 10 years of video production experience, Steve has filmed a wide variety of subjects and events, having also worked as a freelance assistant for segments aired on both the NBC and CBS evening news.

In addition to video, Steve's other passion is running. He has been an Inter-Collegiate Cross Country Track & Field Coach since 1994. He enjoys many outdoor activities and likes to relax by reading or playing finger-style guitar. Working with Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic has allowed Steve to fulfill his love of nature while also pursuing his love of video — these expeditions have proved to be some of the most remarkable experiences in his life.

As a video chronicler, Steve has his cameras at-the-ready 24 hours a day and seven days a week, with just one goal: to capture the essence of each expedition. Voyage DVDs are available at the end of each expedition — they often prove to be remarkable ways of remembering and recapturing the magic of these remarkable journeys.
