Timothy Vogel

The founder and Chief Scientist of heur-e-ka LLC in California’s Silicon Valley, Tim was born in Rock Island Illinois. Emulating his parents, he attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. After earning a BS in Ecology, Ethology, and Evolution he worked as a Marine Science Instructor, Biologist, and Administrator at the Newfound Harbor Marine Institute at Seacamp on Big Pine Key, Florida from 1977-84.

Going on to study for his MS in Statistics from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, his career as a Data Scientist has taken him coast-to-coast where he's led field education classes as both a profession and hobby for over 40 years. His closest friends have dubbed him “The Gentleman Biologist of Pier39”.
