Wendell Vaught

Wendell Vaught was born in Gary, Indiana but grew up on his family farm in Dixon, Missouri. He retired in Florida from a career as a Senior Forest Ranger. He spent years in forest management and recreational development with the majority of his responsibility in fighting forest fires in Florida as well as the western United States. Wendell has taught environmental education through different programs with Forestry and other organizations.

His extensive knowledge of the local flora and fauna and has earned him the title of a certified Master Naturalist with the University of Florida. He has always been interested in the plants and the animals of the Everglades ecosystem. Wendell currently owns and operates an eco-tourism business and specializes in educational hiking tours and kayak trips throughout southern Florida.
