Dragon Hill, Guy Fawkes and Eden Islet

Dec 20, 2017 - National Geographic Endeavour II

Today the National Geographic Endeavour II visited the northern side of Santa Cruz Island.  This is the most arid area of the island, due to the lack of rain and moisture, since the prevailing trade winds blow from south or southeast to northwest, pushing clouds against the mountains and creating a cloud forest-like ecosystem. The complete northern part of the island is in the rain shadow.
