Pacaya River & El Dorado trail, Ucayali River

Dec 29, 2017 - Delfin II

The day started gloomy, with a heavy mist that made everything look gray and felt humid and fresh. But as soon as we got to the mouth of the Pacaya River, the dolphin show started and then the hundreds of birds lighten up the day. After we found the Jungle Café for breakfast, blue skies started appearing and fairly soon we had bright sun for our swim in the Amazon River.  After a healthy lunch and a ‘mandatory siesta’ to recover, some of us set out to explore a new trail near El Dorado while others did a skiff ride.
