Nanaimo & Georgia Strait

May 07, 2018 - National Geographic Sea Lion

Truly a gorgeous and sunny day cruising north aboard the National Geographic Sea Lion! We took advantage of opportunities to learn about photography through a “positive lens” with Steve Morello and the fascinating natural history of killer whales with Berit Solstad. The rest of the day was graced with an unbelievable amount of sunshine and calm seas. Just before dinner, we timed our entry into Seymour Narrows perfectly so that we could cross at slack tide and sail safely towards the setting sun.

Emily was raised by two veterinarians in the mountains of Central Oregon, where she spent much of her time on the back of a horse dreaming about the sea.
