Huahine, Society Islands

May 13, 2019 - National Geographic Orion

This morning within the beautiful, secluded environs of Huahine Island, we delved deep into the cultural and natural essence of French Polynesia, visiting traditional spiritual centers, hiking through the forested hills, and stopping for an encounter with impressive and large sacred eels. The afternoon then took us back to the beautiful blue waters around the island for snorkeling, paddle-boarding, and relaxation on the gorgeous little beach, caught in the embrace of the green hills, far removed from all signs of habitation elsewhere.
