We experienced the quintessential temperate rainforest in Desolation Sound Marine Park in British Columbia. With a few good days of rain, the rivers were flowing and the mushrooms were sprouting out of the forest floor. On our morning walks to Unwin Lake, we were treated to views of a lush forest filled with green ferns and cedar covered in moss and lichens.
After a morning of productive photography and nature walks in the forest, we boarded our ship and enjoyed a bloody mary bar and a fantastic lunch of homemade pizza. The afternoon was spent cruising the sound and admiring the incredible unnamed waterfalls cascading from the top of the mountains into the ocean. What an incredible day of adventure and scenery in British Columbia.
