Today, National Geographic Orion spent the day at sea, sailing south to the Tuamotu Islands. This journey of just over 500 nautical miles will only take us one day and a night of sailing. We had fair winds and a following sea, making for an easy crossing and providing a great opportunity to spend time on the bow watching birds and enjoying the sunshine.

National Geographic Orion
At Sea, En Route to Papeete
National Geographic Orion spent the day at sea, sailing for Tahiti. The seas were flat and the sky was blue. We all enjoyed some time to relax. We watched presentations from the naturalists and spent time on the bow. Seabirds were all around. Some curious ones even came in for a closer look. The sun began to set as the ship pulled into the harbor at Papeete.
