On the first day of the new year we decided to explored one of the most important national park in Panama onboard National Geographic Quest, for the first time we change a little our regular schedule and we set two stations, one for snorkeling and the other for nature walking and water sports, like kayaking, paddleboard and swan in the crystal water of this paradise.

In the walk around the ranger station’s outdoor garden, we could see varieties of birds including American oystercatchers, crimson back tanagers, lance-tail manakins, magnificent frigatebirds, brown pelicans, agoutis, iguanas and more.

During the snorkeling in Coco’s Islet, our guests had the opportunity to observe the many native fish of the coral reef ecosystems including razor surgeon fish, bicolored parrot fish, cortez rainbow wrasse, green moray eel, and white-tip shark.

On the way out from the archipelago, mother nature lent us a beautiful sunset view while pantropical spotted dolphins rode the ship’s bow.

And after the magical moment in this place we start our journey to Costa Rica.
