Bartolomé & Santiago Islands
We started our expedition today with an early walk to the summit of Bartolomé Island. This is a very small island (0.5 square miles) located in the central part of the archipelago. This is a great place to visit because of the volcanic formations. Once we reached the top of Bartolome we enjoyed one of the most spectacular landscapes in the Galápagos. Later in the morning we disembarked on a golden sand beach where we offered our guests swimming, snorkeling or just enjoying the view. The water conditions were perfect today; the ocean was calm and the visibility was great. Many of our guests snorkeled around the pinnacle rock and observed a very interesting variety of tropical fish, green see turtles and some guests also had the unique experience of swimming with Galápagos penguins.

During the afternoon we continued our exploration and landed on Puerto Egas, Santiago Island. We walked along the shoreline and observed many interesting creatures. Many marine iguanas were sunbathing on the rocks and our visitors were really impressed with them. We also observed Galápagos sea lions, fur seals, herons, colorful crabs, among some others. We spent a lot of time taking pictures of them and learning about their natural history. What a wonderful day!
