Bartolome & James Islands
What a wonderful time we had today!
Early in the morning we set foot on Bartolome Island for a 340-foot walk to the top of this small but impressive island. Some of us walked fast for a morning workout, and some of us took a bit of time and proceeded with our naturalist’s interpretation of our surroundings. Once on top we saw the impressive view from above: the world-famous pinnacle rock was in front of us, surrounded by several parasitic cones. What a great sight!
After breakfast on board, we landed on a beautiful golden beach for our water activities: snorkeling, swimming, or just relaxing on the beaches which Bartolome island is also famous for. As soon as we were all back on board we started navigating for our next destination, James Island, our goat-free adopted island.
We spent the day on a black sandy beach; some of us snorkeled and others just pulled out a yellow towel and sunbathed under our radiant equatorial sun. Some of us walked to the grottos, home to fur seals and many other fantastic creatures.
As the sun was setting on the horizon, we had an opportunity to say good bye to this wonderful place. Our expedition has come to an end; we had the greatest time with a lot of memories in this piece of heaven on earth.
