Isabela Island
A soft rocking motion encompasses our navigation towards Urbina Bay at the foot of the central most volcano of Isabela Island on its western shore. Today we will take a hike that in spite of its easiness provides many surprises. Also we are going to enjoy some great beach time under the inviting sun’s heat of the Galápagos and the children on board will have Zodiac driving lessons with “Uncle Ernie” as I am being called. It is still early in the morning, so just a matter of waiting for a couple of hours to see and experience another full day in the Encantadas….
After the day began we were already talking of great satisfaction. The hike was just superb. The guests were delighted by the coral heads found inland and the land iguanas gave a good spectacle too. The beach time was enjoyed by everyone there. It was so refreshing! But the most celebrated activity was, for sure, the Zodiac driving lessons.
In the afternoon we enjoyed the tranquility of the mangrove lagoons at Punta Moreno. Being there “listening” to the silence of the place and seeing the birds and all the fish around the Zodiacs was overwhelming.
Our minds have been flying and our hearts have been left behind in the islands. By the end of the day everyone feels a little of them is back there, waiting with the hope of returning again, one day; maybe soon.
