Isla Partida
Today, the first day of a new year, begins with a beautiful sunrise. Guests gather to participate in the farewell stretch class amidst the majestic backdrop of Ensenada Grande. The excitement is felt by young and old alike as we await our morning’s activities. Many of us opt for a Zodiac cruise while a great number of us gear up for a challenging hike up the Isla Partida. As we feast our eyes on this uninhabited land we are awestruck by such beauty. A nearby grebe entertains us with its energetic diving skills as we wait on shore to begin our journey. We challenge ourselves with this rocky terrain while at the same time noticing the varied species of cacti, each in their perfectly selected place. Prickly pear, cardon and nestled in the crevices of the volcanic rock a small Mammilaria are among the species we see. We reach the height of our destination with a sense of great accomplishment and reward ourselves with the pleasure of basking in the warmth of the sun while feasting on the incredibly beautiful vision of turquoise water and magnificent rocky landscape.
Our well-protected location is decidedly idyllic for the afternoon's activities. Many enjoy the thrill of exploring an unfamiliar path in an adjacent canyon. The children spend their afternoon taking Zodiac driving lessons. They are delighted with themselves and their well deserved Zodiac license; one of the highlights of their trip. For several guests an afternoon relaxing on deck is the ideal ending to a perfect afternoon, while others enjoy the therapeutic benefits of a spa service. The evening concludes with a radiant sunset followed by sharing our treasured memories of our time together in Baja.
