Bartholome & Santiago Islands
Another day in paradise. Today’s visit is like having the chance to fly in time, where the velocity is extremely fast, and which allows us to be in two different planets on the same day. In the morning we felt like we were walking on the moon, where the geology of the island was embracing us with different types of lava features (lava tubes, parasitic cones, tuff cones, volcanic ash, small volcanoes). Later in the morning we went to the beach for water activities, and perhaps this will be one of the unforgettable moments that none of the swimmers or snorkelers will forget. As soon as we entered the water, three penguins decided to be part of the welcoming committee of the marine kingdom, overwhelming everybody with full excitement and memories.
In the afternoon we had another chance for water activities, but this time young sea lions were the stars. For a great finale we ended up walking along the intertidel zone, where marine iguanas, crabs, anemones, sea urchins, barnacles, sponges and migrant birds filled our eyes with a variarity of colors. It is very hard to describe all this, unless you experience it personally, on your own, in a situation like this.
