Genovesa Island
This trip was fantastic. Everything exceeded my wildest dreams and expectations. Today we were on Genovesa or Tower Island, and the main attraction here were the seabirds. To name a few, we saw red-footed boobies, Nazca boobies and frigate birds with their chicks. The birds were everywhere and their chicks were just as abundant. As we were traveling in the Zodiacs this morning, the first thing we saw were the bottlenose dolphins following us as we cruised across an extinct caldera of a volcano. In the water we saw lots of beautiful marine life, including many Moorish idols, king angelfish, parrot fish and more.
Later on, we went on another Zodiac cruise to search for the graceful red-billed tropicbirds and we got lucky because we saw several of these fantastic sea birds.
The trip to the Galapagos was truly the trip of a lifetime, and going with Lindblad made it ten times better. I would definitely return to the Galapagos or another Lindblad trip in a second.
P.S. The frigatebird nest with two chicks is still going, but the younger chick is weakening fast.
