We floated on the ocean like an open book,
Powerful, but helpless all the same
Wondering what will show its face
Life beyond the limits of our everyday life

A pirate or two leapt up like the past
The science and legends of lines hereby told
The mermaids disappear as they appeared from below
Only to suddenly bloom like a field in spring

Pizza for lunch then onto the afternoon:

Leagues on, we sight the inferno of old
Of its heat from the depths we are duly told
The life that emulates on the coasts likened to inferno
Survive as proof of the need to survive

Era to era, the cycle goes on
With mating and fighting and the treasure of young
A new kind of being with wings or without?
Life is appreciated from the cell to the bone
