Isabela and Fernandina Islands

This day started with a mystical mist that was covering the ocean around the Polaris. The mist just added a mysterious hale of enchantment to the environment. Little by little, the mist gradually disappeared. The most fascinating volcanic landscape you can imagine was uncovered. Later in the morning by the time we were disembarking for a Zodiac cruise I felt in a great mood. I always have the feeling that something extraordinary could happen while visiting Isabela and Fernandina. Nowhere else in the archipelago you can feel a stronger kind of magic floating in the air than on these islands. Well, today has not been the exception. Something unusual happened.

While doing a Zodiac cruise along the coastline of Ecuador volcano a marine iguana came on board one of the Zodiacs! The reptile was spotted first swimming trying to reach land. At one point the iguana simply decided to climb up the Zodiac. It hitchhiked for several minutes without showing any concern about their astonished companions. This hilarious and unique adventurer was the delight of their observers. At the same time it was an incredible proof to show how fascinating the Galapagos wildlife can be and how unafraid the animals are in this paradise.
