Planet Earth, location: Galapagos!

I awoke today in extremely high spirits about life. I am very rarely let down by anything, since I consider myself a very positive person. The fact is that it is difficult not to be happy in a place such as the one in which I am working now, and I am talking about Galapagos.

When I was little, I very often found myself day dreaming about how it would be to explore different planets. It was the way a little boy expressed his desire for traveling, to get to know new places and experience new adventures. Of course I never thought, even in my wildest dreams, that the little innocent boy that I once was would be traveling as much as he once wished. My range of traveling is still restricted to this planet, despite the fact that sometimes my friends asked me to come back down from the moon... but that is a different story!

The place of our visit today is Bartolome Island. It is a little island that resembles the view of the moon that we saw when we looked throughout a telescope for the first time when we were kids. Bartolome is the place that, if you ever had the dream of walking on the moon one day, would bring you the closest to a feeling of a dream come true. Moon crater shapes are all along the path and from the very top of the summit of this tuff cone, the most photographed picture of the Galapagos... the Pinnacle Rock and its green surroundings.

Bartolome has a very special place in my heart, since every time I come here I have the feeling that I finally made it, I traveled to another planet, just like I wanted to do when I was a kid. I know I won’t find the two-headed alien species around the hill waiting to blast me into pieces (that is the other part of my daydream that I did not mention before ‘cause I still want to keep my job!). One of the things that I do know, however, is that if I keep on the right track... my next adventure will be just around the corner!
