Genovesa Island
I can’t say enough good things about today’s visit. It was simply impressive to see so many sea birds flying over our heads, and the ones who weren’t were on land pretending as if we were not even there!
It does not matter how many wonderful things we see in this islands, it doesn’t matter how many wonderful facts the Naturalist give to our guests. For in the end, what probably really matters is the fact that all the species are completely fearless, and we will remember that fact for a long time if not forever.
As we were strolling along the trail at Darwin bay, lots of red footed Boobies were found either nesting or hiding from the possible predation of frigate birds, their natural enemies.
Genovesa is a very good example of fearlessness on wild life. It is strange enough to see a bird walking on land not being disturb by our presence, but what about dozen of them or even hundreds? Let me tell you that it is a wonderful feeling!
We are certain that a place like Galapágos is worth to be preserved for future generations, and for some strange reason, I am totally positive that it would happen just like that! Future generations have the right to see a place like this, and we are in the position to make it happen. Let’s pass the voice along, let’s take care of Galapágos, and let’s take care of our children’s heritage…
