Day at Sea
We continued our journey eastwards along the north coast of Venezuela and passed the mainly uninhabited islands that belong to Venezuela that are dotted some fifty or so miles off its coast. The islands rose off our port bow during the day, but the coast of Venezuela was just over the horizon. The odd fishing boat, whose occupants have fishing huts, located on the islands, criss-crossed our path. Oil tankers passed throughout the day. Brown and masked boobies played around the ship, diving towards the few flying fish that broke the surface. The crew went to sail stations and once again the wonderful cream sails were unfurled as we sailed along the Spanish Main. Alex Trebek shared his experiences of working on the Jeopardy! show to the thrill of many regular viewers present. Just before sunset the sails were furled and we sped on against the swell during the night.
