Corcovado, Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica

The large predators find a home in Corcovado National Park, and they control the populations of the medium-sized mammals and keep them on their toes with cautious behavior. To find them is always a thrill and to be able to watch them is a privilege.

Three groups went on different walks into the most intense rainforest experience of our expedition. A refreshing dip in the river was fun, while another group took a long hike. We were able to see white nosed coatis, Central American agoutis, mantled howler monkeys, Central American spider monkeys, and we found the tracks of a Baird’s tapir, which shows how healthy and pristine this rainforest is kept.

The ship was repositioned to Caletas where the crew prepared a great beach BBQ.

In the afternoon, some of us went horseback riding, some relaxed at the beach and others went on another nature walk.

During sunset, we cruised with cocktails on the sundeck to close a wonderful day at the Osa Peninsula.
