Otoque & Bona Island

The beautiful sunrise was absolutely the perfect welcome for our day today. We boarded the Zodiacs in the morning into the cold waters of the Bay of Panama, hoping we would see a good number of sea birds. We far surpassed our expectations when flocks and flocks of frigatebirds, pelicans, and boobies gave us an amazing show right in front of our eyes.

We admired these wonderful birds, nesting, flying, and feeding. To our surprise, we were able to spot a couple of blue-footed boobies. This sighting made our day!

The land formation and exposed rock contrasting with the blue water was a breathtaking experience. The Zodiacs were able to take us close to the cliffs and inlets of this island, exploring spots that probably no one has ever seen before!

We retuned to the Sea Voyager and began to sail towards our next stop, Coiba. During the navigation we were able to identify in the distance an uncommon sighting: a false killer whale! This was only for a few seconds, but it really pleased us.

We had a great day today, and hope that in the next couple of days we will have many more wonderful opportunities for wildlife sightings.
