Our guests reach Costa Rica following an unforgettable Panamanian experience. Our first stop in this nature-blessed country was Golfito. Once a very productive banana port, now a day it holds one of the most preserved mangroves habitat of the southern Pacific coast. Here we took kayaks to explore the mangrove in search of wildlife. We also did a Zodiac expedition to a nearby river, where we found howler monkeys and many shorebirds.

Later this afternoon we visited Casa Orquidea Botanical Garden. This garden shows how ecologically diverse this region is, with hundreds of plants species including heliconias, bromeliads, and orchids. We also spotted colorful birds like tanagers, honeycreepers, and hummingbirds.

We enjoy so much our first day in Costa Rica – pura vida!
