Today, we continued exploring the northern part of Iceland. From the fishing town of Húsavík, we went on many excursions to experience the natural wonders of the area. Part of our group went towards Námaskarð, to the hot spring area, Hverir. Here, the land is steaming, and hot mud pots are everywhere, with some parts of the earth at a boiling temperature.
Later, we continued toward the famous Dimmuborgir lava fields and admired the bird life at Lake Mývatn (Midge Lake).
In the afternoon, we got to experience one of the waterfalls that make Iceland known worldwide, Goðafoss. Here, the water falls from a height of 12 meters and over a width of 30 meters, a truly spectacular sight.
We finished our excursions back at Húsavík, where we had time to visit the Whale Museum and relax at the geothermal sea baths.
After dinner we had the privilege of listening to music and learning more about Icelandic traditions with Linus Orri. His performance, in the intimate setting of our lounge, was the perfect way to end another incredible day of our exploration of Iceland.
