The adventure begins! Our first full day aboard Lord of the Glens was filled with an action-packed triple itinerary. After awaking at dock in Kyle of Lochalsh, guests had the option to stretch their legs and take in the beauty of the area on a nature walk along the Plock of Lochalsh or to visit the picturesque Eilean Donan Castle, a historically strategic outpost at the convergence of three lochs which is now Scotland’s most-photographed castle.
An afternoon sail southward around the Isle of Skye (accompanied by dolphins!) brought us to Armadale and the gardens and castle ruins of a grand Clan MacDonald estate. Following one more cruise through gorgeous – sunny! – weather, we docked at Inverie, home to Britain’s most remote pub. Given the pre-breakfast walks planned for the following day, that left two options for the evening: early to bed or stay up enjoying the Old Forge until it’s time to start again!
