Today was an incredible end to a spectacular trip. Once again we awoke to calm seas, no wind, and sunny skies. A bit of fog was a slight change, but it did not hinder our morning. In some ways, the fog enhanced it. We once again set off in the expedition landing craft to look for gray whales. It was a bit challenging at first, as the fog hampered visibility, but luckily for us, the whales found us. Within a matter of minutes, curious gray whales approached us, and soon we were rewarded once again with one of the most incredible wildlife experiences anywhere. Multiple mother whales were pushing their babies up to us, giving us the ability to not only physically interact with them, but to look at them eye to eye. It does not get any better than that!

In the late afternoon, we finished our voyage with a walk on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Sand dollar beach is on Magdalena Island, and is filled with shells and other treasures. Over ten miles in length and not a condo in sight, we were able to walk, beachcomb, and even swim. A perfect ending to a perfect trip.
