This morning we sailed under cloudy skies and found our first whale of the trip—a lone humpback. After a few soundings we continued on to our afternoon destination of Puerto Gato. There we enjoyed a variety of activities which included hiking, kayaking, snorkeling and stand-up paddleboarding. Everyone enjoyed watching several dozen brown pelicans plummeting into the water in groups of three, four, sometimes five.
In the evening after dinner, we enjoyed a presentation on Sea of Cortez legends, Ed Ricketts and John Steinbeck.
