The first full day was just that – full! From sunup to sundown, the day was filled with new experiences: red-footed boobies, blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, great and magnificent frigatebirds, and one of my favorite wonders: snorkeling with the Galapagos sea lions.
We visited two exquisite locations on the oldest island. Punta Pitt is in the northeasternmost corner of San Cristobal, and Cerro Brujo is about halfway down the western coastline. Today’s grand finale was approaching Leon Dormido at sunset with a frigate cruising overhead, catching his ride on our updraft until he got off at his home station.
