We awoke this morning in the caldera of Santorini. Surrounded by the complex of five volcanic islands. We boarded a traditional Greek boat and sailed to the uninhabited island of Nea Kameni for a morning hike. The cool, clear blue waters of the Aegean Sea were soon turned rusty orange and warm as we arrived at the nearby hot springs to take a refreshing dip in the healing waters that are filled with iron and minerals.

After lunch, we returned to the island where we explored the Thera Museum to learn about the history of the Archaic through Byzantine eras, learning about the trade routes of the islands. This was followed by a deep dive into the unearthed Pompeii-like, Akrotiri. It was a picture-perfect day with blue skies and domed white buildings capping the volcanic peaks, and we walked the town of Oia with our cameras capturing every breathtaking view.

The evening was spectacular, with a feast at the Pyrgos Winery and Restaurant at the top of the island where we danced, laughed, drank the local wine, and toasted to an unforgettable day in picturesque Santorini.
