North Seymour is an Island, just across from the airport on Baltra. One of the oldest rocks, perhaps more than three million years of age, it is flat, a perfect place to meet seabirds as they can safely land and take off.

It is our first full day, and everybody seems to be very excited about, getting ready at the disembarking gate and on line to go. It is the first dry landing, this time on a rocky coast. Take off your lifejacket, get ready to start walking.

There is a trail marked with sticks painted black and white for us to stay on. Once everybody is ready with their cameras, we start exploring, guides of natural history and photo instructors with their knowledge about photography, an incredible way to learn about two different topics, on site.

Along the way we met, first of all, the famous swallowed tailed gull, nocturnal and beautiful. We see land iguanas, reptiles big enough to be noticed right away, with stunning yellow gold colors. Then, blue footed boobies; not expected to be seen at this time of the year, because it is the hot season, but there they are. We spot sea lions, and last but not least the frigate birds with their famous red inflated pouch. All of these sightings along the famous rocky trail of Seymour.

Back on board we had time for refreshments and then began preparing for the afternoon.  Time to gear up!

We are now at a different island, Rábida, the red one. The afternoon began with several choices: snorkeling, kayaking or riding the glass bottom boat. The goal is that no one can be left behind.

The Galapagos waters also have special and unique wildlife, and thanks to all of these options, everyone can have a taste of it. During the following days everyone will have more opportunities to see what is underwater, this is just the beginning. But, today is coming to an end, and there is still one more thing to do – go to the beach.

The walk is along the red beach, telling us of its volcanic origin.  Sea lions are back to feed their pups as the sun is going down. It was a great day with a great sunset.
