In the morning, National Geographic Endurance was traveling through on-and-off fog banks as we made our way toward Peter I Island, our destination for the afternoon.

Situated in the Bellingshausen Sea, this remote island is rarely visited by any ships! As we approached the island, we had a wonderful humpback whale encounter which mesmerized the guests with its multiple surfacing’s close to the ship. Finally, during and after lunch, there were spectacular views of the island and the numerous large icebergs that gathered around this remote piece of land!
