Today was the last full day of our expedition. We started early morning with a nice sunrise. There were some clouds, but also very beautiful colors. After breakfast, we split into groups for three different activities, a Zodiac tour in Gamboa, a nature walk on Barro Colorado Island, and a visit to the Rainforest Discovery Center.

We started walking on Barro Colorado Island and five minutes later we spotted a white nosed coati that walked next to us. As we kept walking in the forest we saw a big troop of howler monkeys, and a very nice surprise was that one of them had a baby on its back.

The tour that went into Gamboa enjoyed views of Tamarin monkeys, sloth and birds and were also able to see huge vessels crossing the canal.

During the afternoon we were on Gatun Lake enjoying beautiful landscape and some lesser capibaras. Now we’re heading to the Panama Canal, Gatun locks.
