In the Gulf of Panama, the powerful northeastern trade winds cross the isthmus and hit the surface of the water causing and upswell.  This effect brings an abundance of fish, and therefore, an abundance of seabirds.  Some of the islands are used as nesting sites. Bona and Iguana islands are home to thousands of seabirds, Bona has the highest quantities but is also a very important nesting site for Iguanas, even though this colony isn’t as large.

The gorgeous beach, snorkeling in the coral reef, and the walking trails make it a perfect location for our visit.
