Today, guests woke to another day of fantastic weather. Despite the blue skies, the winds were considerable but had little influence on the morning’s Zodiac operations. We landed on the shores of Delos and practically had the island to ourselves, bar the local cat population. The grasslands were transformed by vast fields of wildflowers of every color imaginable. Scattered between the hills were immense ruins lined with marble pillars and extravagant statues.
In the afternoon, after another fantastic lunch onboard, we departed for the quaint town of Syros. This was perhaps the most beautiful town of the entire voyage and provided many great attractions across our walking tour. We were also treated to surprise refreshments before we ventured in the local performance theatre. Here we were entertained by local dancers and traditional music.
Once again, it was a fantastic day on board National Geographic Orion and a great way to wrap up our expedition.
