As Christmas morning arrived in Golfo Dulce, we explored the botanical garden called Casa Orquideas. In this beautiful paradise, we enjoyed a diverse display of plants as well as abundant bird life. We also had some swimming opportunities and a chance for our young explorers to drive Zodiacs.

After a nice lunch, we repositioned at the town of Golfito town for kayaking and shoreline walks. As we paddled through the mangrove forest, our accompanying naturalists informed us about the mangrove ecosystem and the benefits of protecting it. Next, we enjoyed refreshments and musical entertainment at a local restaurant.

Some guests explored further on Zodiacs and spotted wildlife, such as roseate spoonbills, snowy egrets and red-backed squirrel monkeys. Back onboard National Geographic Quest, we had our recap session and enjoyed a Christmas buffet.
