Gabriela has also been active in developing environmental education programs for children, focusing on the delicate ecosystems of Antarctica and Tierra del Fuego.  She continues her work in education and outreach from her current position as the Education Manager for the International Antarctic Centre in Christchurch, New Zealand.  In her spare time, Gabriela is studying for her Ph.D. at Gateway Antarctica, Centre for Antarctic Studies and Research from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.
