Expeditions offer extraordinary experiences for travelers of all ages
An expedition is the perfect way to experience wildness with your family—whether that’s a twosome, nuclear unit or sprawling multi-generational clan. On every expedition we see grandparents, parents, and children sharing activities and creating a bright, collective family memory. Whether you're 8 or 80, there is joy in discovering the wild together.
Smart fun! Introducing the National Geographic Global Explorers program
New this year for kids & teens: the National Geographic Global Explorers program, developed in conjunction with National Geographic Education to help kids develop the attitudes, skills and knowledge of an explorer! Recently launched in Galápagos and rolling out to Alaska during the 2018 season, kids and teens may choose cool activities—from earning an expedition landing craft “driver’s license” to recording wildlife sightings in their region-specific Field Notebook—and benefit from National Geographic certified field educators.
Daily family activities to share
See, learn and do more with experts who know these regions best. Snorkeling among sea lions in Galápagos, paddling tandem kayaks in Alaska's coves, or breathlessly watching a curious polar bear in the Arctic—these are the experiences you'll remember. Our daily, shared activities come in a diverse range of interests and fitness levels.
Small ships are ideal for families
Our ships offer the perfect balance of togetherness and space for families to exercise their freedom. Aboard ship, kids can never wander far, but they're also able to explore their own interests. Reconnect over Zodiac forays, dinner, and nightly Recap. Kid-friendly menu options and impromptu movie nights with pizza are always a hit, too!
Card-worthy family photos
Since every expedition sails with a Lindblad-National Geographic certified photo instructor, and some ships with a National Geographic photographer, you're guaranteed to go home with top-notch shots!
Family travel savings—kids under 18 get $500 off
We believe that sharing an expedition with your kids or grandkids is a life-enhancing experience. Since we are committed to encouraging families to travel, we invite you to take $500 off the cost of your expedition for each child under the age of 18 traveling.
