Denley Delaney

Denley Delaney leads the National Geographic Society Exploration Technology portfolio of cutting-edge ocean exploration tools that capture unique storytelling content and scientific data from remote marine environments, and behavioral data from charismatic marine species. Denley developed her passion for the oceans while growing up in The Bahamas and later fed her curiosity of marine ecosystems through studies in marine science and environmental communication—for which she holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Stanford University. Denley is driven by her belief in the strong connection that we all have with the natural world, and her desire to understand, preserve and protect the habitats and biodiversity of our oceans. She is participating in the Seamounts in the Galapagos Marine Reserve project.
