Leigh Work

With a background in conservation biology and environmental education, Leigh holds a master's degree in Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment, where she focused on international wildlife conservation and protected areas management. She earned her undergraduate degree in Environmental Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and conducted research in intertidal marine ecosystems at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology.

Leigh has worked both internationally with the Wildlife Conservation Society and regionally as Executive Director of the Jackson Hole Wildlife Foundation. She developed her naturalist and teaching skills at Teton Science School in Jackson, WY, and at NatureBridge in California's Marin Headlands. She holds certifications in outdoor and environmental education, is a Wilderness First Responder, and completed her NOLS Outdoor Educator course in Alaska.

Today, Leigh guides throughout North America, from Alaska to Baja California, with a particular focus on U.S. National Parks. She enjoys helping travelers better understand the connections between wildlife, landscapes and conservation, drawing on experience from both the scientific and educational worlds. Whether discussing ecosystem management, animal behavior or the value of protected areas, she encourages curiosity and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

While conservation remains a central part of her life, Leigh's greatest joy comes from spending time outdoors with her husband, twin daughters and son. She currently resides in Bozeman, MT, where access to wild places continues to inspire both her work and family life.
