Walter Pisco Limones
Walter Pisco is from the Galápagos Islands, where the ocean and exceptional biodiversity shaped his early interest in the natural world. These formative experiences led him toward a career in marine science and conservation.
He later moved to Baja California, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology, followed by a master’s degree in Marine Science and Conservation with a specialization in climate change. Since then, Walter has built a career that bridges research and field-based work, serving as both a marine researcher and an expedition guide specializing in scuba diving and whale observation across the Pacific.
In recent years, Walter has incorporated nature photography and filmmaking into his work as tools for science communication. He has collaborated with the Charles Darwin Research Station and contributed to marine conservation projects that emphasize public engagement and education.
Walter’s work centers on translating scientific knowledge into accessible narratives that connect science, culture and conservation. He continues to explore and work across diverse regions, using visual storytelling to foster broader understanding of ocean ecosystems and environmental change.
