An early morning at the most bio-diverse place on the Planet, the Osa Peninsula, was just the perfect place to spend our second day in Costa Rica.

The day started a bit slow for spotting wildlife since we got a bit of a rain, but what would you expect in the middle of the rain forest? But the rain didn’t deceive us and we all got ready to disembark to enjoy this magnificent ecosystem.

As we arrived on shore we divided ourselves up into small groups: some went on a long hike deep within the forest, some got an easier walk along the beach and for the most adventurist, an amazing horseback ride combine with a swimming opportunity in the pristine waters of the Caletas River.

After all the activities, we all gathered for a delicious picnic lunch prepared by our galley.

In the afternoon, the visit to the San Pedrillo station gave us again the opportunity to enjoy this untouched and protected national park. A “power hike” was offered for those looking for a bit of exercise, then an easy trail for the calmer hikers, and finally a hike to the San Pedrillo Waterfall that offers a bit of an exercise and a natural history interpretation.

Our amazing day finished with a social hour and a session of recaps led by our naturalists on board the National Geographic Sea Lion.
