Science at Sea: Documenting Antarctica’s Glaciers with the Extreme Ice Survey
“The Antarctic Peninsula is one of the world’s most important places for telling the story of a changing climate,” says James Balog, founder of Extreme Ice Survey. This project, supported by National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions’ Science at Sea program, documents the shifts in the Antarctic landscape through time-lapse photography which captures glacial movements, adaptive wildlife habits and more. In this video, certified photography instructor Eric Guth, who works as a field technician for the survey, shares more about its mission to provide a visual voice for the planet’s changing ecosystems.
