From the living Roman heart of Split to the cascading falls of Krka National Park and the historic streets of Zadar, this extension offers an introduction to Dalmatia’s cultural and natural heritage. Stroll remarkably preserved ancient cities, savor regional flavors during hands-on culinary experiences and discover lush landscapes threaded by rivers and waterfalls. Along the way, explore how art, history and nature intersect across this storied Adriatic region.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Disembark Ship / Zadar, Croatia / Krka National Park / Split

After disembarking the ship, set out to explore Zadar, a place shaped by centuries of romance, resilience and cultural exchange. Discover this rich past as you explore architectural and historical highlights, including the Museum of Ancient Glass. Here, you’ll have the chance to watch skilled artisans recreate ancient glass forms during a glassblowing demonstration.

Later, visit Krka National Park, a protected landscape of cascading waterfalls, emerald pools and lush river scenery. Stroll scenic boardwalks and forested paths as you take in the beauty of this remarkable river ecosystem, often likened to a storybook setting. Conclude the day with a walking tour of Split, exploring the vibrant old town and the renowned Diocletian’s Palace—a UNESCO World Heritage site—followed by dinner at a local restaurant. (L,D)

Day 2 - Split / Salona / Trogir

The day begins with a guided exploration of Salona, the once-thriving Roman capital of the province, where remarkably preserved ruins reveal the story of its imperial past. Continue into the Dalmatian hinterland to Stella Croatica, a beautiful estate surrounded by fragrant Mediterranean gardens and home to an olive museum. Join a hands-on cooking class and prepare a traditional local dish using fresh ingredients and aromatic herbs harvested from the garden, then sit down to a leisurely lunch in the estate’s inviting restaurant.

End the day in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed town of Trogir, strolling the winding stone streets of the old town to witness a remarkable blend of Romanesque and Renaissance architecture. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - Split

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the Split airport for your return flight home. (B)
